When my last recorder bummed out, it took a handful of untranscribed interviews with it. Mega 64 crew, the director of Dragonslayer (really sore about that one). One of them was a very impromptu meeting with Joe Kubert, who was sitting at his table as I left the con floor. He was friendly, but the conversation wasn’t very interesting. A few “yes”s, “no”s, when I was hoping for sage, old-wisdom tales. When I asked him how much longer he planned to stay working, he said until the day he dies.
And he certainly did that.
